| WINONA, Minn., March 31, 2002 -- A St. Cloud, Minn., company that specializes in empty-nester housing near campuses plans 40 houses and two mini-apartment buildings near Saint Mary's University in a deal that would give owners access to campus recreational and dining facilities. The subdivision would be across Highway 14 from the campus on 8.3 acres near the Knopp Valley subdivision entrance, according to documents filed with the city. At Saint Mary's, Vice President Ann Merchlewicz said the university has no financial interest in the development except to make specified campus facilities and services available through a contract. Merchlewicz she understood that Collegeville Development has no intention to sell or rent to students. |
