| BRIAN KRANS (MCJ-2004) joined the 50,000-circulation Rock Island and Moline, Ill., Dispatch and Argus as a police reporter. In September Brian joined a convoy of Davenport, Iowa, first-responders and city workers as an embedded reporter for a 10-day relief project in the Hurricane Katrina-stricken Gulf region. Earlier he was with the Winona Daily News. At Winona State he had been news editor of the Winonan and president of the campus chapter of the Society for Collegiate Journalists.
